[The Origins and Future of Anitoku and How to help and support its growth!]
Why Anitoku Exists
Like most artists, I've always dabbled in multiple art disciplines.
I mostly stick to drawing and animation, but I've been interested in creating websites ever since I took web development in college.
I've created multiple sites since then, but none as elaborate and in depth as Anitoku.
Most of them are off server now, but check out Anitoku's predecessor to see where I started: gaminami.wordpress.com
Like gaminami.wordpress.com, I created Anitoku to be a hub for
-
My coming animated series GAMINAMI
-
My art book DIZZY!
-
A place where I can upload my own art freely
When Anitoku was in its initial stages, it looked great, but it was largely empty.
I started to realize I could really do a lot more with it.
The fact of having your own website grants you so much potential, so I started brainstorming different things I could utilize the site for.
Finally, after becoming disillusioned with social media and almost quitting for the 100th time, it finally came to me.
To create a space where artists, especially independent and underrepresented creators can be seen, appreciated, and rewarded.
I genuinely believe artists deserve more than just likes and views.
They deserve opportunities.
How You Can Support (Without Spending Money)
Not everyone can donate, but it's all good.
If you still want to support Anitoku, here are a few simple ways that make a real impact:
1. Participate in Contests 🎨
Submitting your art keeps the platform alive and growing. Every entry adds value to the community.
2. Vote & Engage 🗳️
Voting helps highlight artists and increases activity across the site.
3. Share Anitoku 📢
If you’ve ever enjoyed anything here, sharing it with a friend or posting it online helps more than you think.
4. Keep Coming Back 🔁
Returning visitors = growth. Growth = bigger opportunities for artists.
A Simple Way to Help
I'm sure you've noticed ads placed throughout the site.
They might seem small (and probly annoying), but they play a big role.
When you view or interact with ads, it helps regenerate a fraction of a fraction of my own money that I put into Anitoku and these contests.
You don’t have to go out of your way or click any ads (but it helps) 🥲🙏🏽.
Just using the site normally already helps more than you realize tho.
Where the Money Goes 💸
To be fully transparent, here’s what your support contributes to:
🌐 Website hosting and platform costs (Wix be wylin with their prices fr)
💰 Cash prize pools for contest winners
🚀 Future expansion (more consistent contests, bigger rewards, more exposure)
This isn’t profit driven. I enjoy spending my money way this way instead of shopping and eating out.
Whether I host the contests or not, I still need Anitoku for its original purposes:
To house my art, merch and animated series, GAMINAMI when it finally releases!
It’s also about building something meaningful for artists like myself and others.
Social media is such a grind, and I don't think it's ever going back to the way it used to be.
And if I can help just a little, I want to make sure artists get their shine✨.
The Bigger Vision
Anitoku is still growing.
Right now, it’s powered by consistency, creativity, and community.
But the long-term vision is bigger:
-
Larger prize pools
-
More frequent contests
-
A thriving space where artists can gain real recognition
And eventually…
A platform where artists can truly benefit from their work, not just post it.
Final Note
If you’ve read this far, thank you.
Whether you’re an artist, a voter, or just someone passing through…
It means a lot and I appreciate you fam.
And every bit of support no matter how small helps push this forward.
